Every year the Mobile World Congress breaks its annual attendance record. This year was no exception as 93,000 people from 200 countries gathered in Barcelona for the world’s largest mobile technology event. Although the spotlight and red carpet are mostly on the big mobile device manufacturers, many more stories take place in these four crazy days. For TAPTAP, this was our third time participating at MWC as exhibitors but it was not just another year for us. MWC’15 was especially important as we had the honor of attending as a Keynote Speaker, where Mark Zuckerberg stood on Monday, we stood on Thursday, represented by Álvaro del Castillo, Founder and CEO of TAPTAP Networks.

Álvaro presented at the “Innovation at the Edge of Real and Virtual” session together with four other experts. His focus was on the digitalization of the offline world and how mobile technology is the key element in that process, especially in the advertising business. He emphasized the importance of the “where” in the sector: “Where a user is says a lot about who they are, this is something that is going to completely change the way we divide the audience for advertising. If we’re familiar with what they like, where they go, their habits, etc. we can offer content they find interesting".

In addition to Alvaro’s keynote, TAPTAP was represented at our exhibition stand, which was a hotbed of meetings and drew hundreds of visitors. We had the opportunity to connect with our partners and clients, share company updates and present SONATA, our global platform for geo-contextualized mobile advertising, in depth. We were certainly the only stand with beacons!. It was a great conference and we are already looking forward to MWC16!
